Anime Afternoon: Beat the Heat. Philomath Branch, 1050 Applegate St., Philomath. 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Free. Teens and Tweens: Do you like anime and manga? Do you like snacks? Then beat the heat with us every Monday in August. The library will have access to a wide variety of anime and some Japanese food stuffs to try. Corvallis Beer Week: OSU Fermentation Science Facility Tour. Wiegand Hall, 3051 SW Campus Way, Corvallis. 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Beer Week is back! OSU’s Fermentation Science Facility shows the production of wine and beer as well as a variety of other fermented foods such as cheese, yogurt, soy sauce, pickles, breads and fermented vegetables. A state-of-the-art, two-barrel, temperature-controlled brewing system is located in the pilot plant in Wiegand Hall. The brewhouse allows students to participate in the brewing process from malt milling to lagering and is complete with packaging and pasteurization capabilities. Corvallis Beer Week: Taproom Taste and Tour. Block 15 Brewery Southtown Taproom, 3415 SW Deschutes St., Corvallis. 6 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Beer Week is back! Children of all ages are welcome to drop by with their parent or caregiver for stories and songs. Storytime is offered year-round as a drop-in program. Children must be accompanied by a grown-up. Farmer’s Market, 1st & Monroe, Corvallis. 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Corvallis Farmers Market happens Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 9am to 1pm, April through November, on First Street in downtown Corvallis.
